Terms of Service

Effective November 6, 2026

These terms cover the relationship between you and Driveway-Calculator.com. We've kept them as close to plain English as legal text allows: what the site gives you, what you may do with it, where the boundaries sit, and what happens if something breaks.

1.Acceptance

By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site — there is no account to cancel and nothing to delete on our side, so leaving is as simple as closing the tab.

2.What the Site provides

The Site offers free planning tools for driveway and hardscaping projects: the driveway calculator with its three area shapes, two independent gravel layers, compacted-density engine, and five-material cost comparison, plus a library of driveway guides and reference sections. The table above lists what is live and what is planned. All tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of results. A cubic-yard estimate is a planning figure, and the disclaimer is part of these terms by reference.

3.Not geotechnical or professional advice

Estimates produced by the calculator are planning references, not geotechnical engineering, professional hardscaping, or contracting advice. The gravel you actually buy governs the project: its gradation, moisture content, compaction effort, and the ASTM density values that apply to your specific aggregate override any generic planning number. For geotechnical questions — slope stability, subgrade requirements, extreme drainage, or contaminated soil — consult a geotechnical engineer or qualified hardscaper. You assume full responsibility for any decision made using the Site's output, including what you purchase and how you build.

5.Acceptable use

You may

  • Use the calculator for any personal estimating purpose — planning driveway material purchases, budgeting a project, or preparing a shopping list.
  • Link to any page of the Site freely, in any context.
  • Share calculator result links — share links contain only the inputs you chose to include.
  • Print or save a copy of a result or guide for your own records or a project file.

You may not

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Site or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, bulk-copy, or republish substantial portions of the formulas, density values, or guide content without written permission.
  • Present the Site's estimates as geotechnical engineering, professional hardscaping, or contracting advice, or rebrand them as your own tool.
  • Use automated systems to generate traffic or submissions that degrade the Site for other visitors.

6.Your content and your data

The Site stores nothing about you on our servers. Calculator inputs and saved results live in your browser only, and share links travel wherever you send them. Messages you send via the contact page are handled per the privacy policy. You retain all rights to anything you write to us; we retain the right to quote it (anonymized) when it corrects our reference data — density and gradation fixes have literally come this way.

7.Intellectual property

The Site's design, text, and code are owned by Driveway-Calculator.com or its licensors. The compacted-density formulas and aggregate gradation references used by the calculator summarize publicly available industry-standard planning numbers (ASTM D448, AASHTO M147, state DOT specs) and are offered for personal, non-commercial planning use. If you believe content here infringes your rights, write to us with specifics and we'll address it promptly.

8.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Driveway-Calculator.com and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site, including aggregate purchases, material waste, project delays, or geotechnical decisions made in reliance on calculator output. This clause is deliberately blunt: the tool is free, and its price in liability matches.

9.Changes & governing law

We may revise these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance, and the effective date above moves with any material revision. These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about any clause are welcome at the contact page.
